Castlebar offer an extensive training and development programme for its staff. Staff are experienced and participate in on-going training in Makaton, Positive Behaviour Strategies and First Aid. The school regularly organises training in Autism, Sensory Processing, Speech and Language Development in collaboration with the Multi-Disciplinary Team.

Castlebar provide a wide range of courses for its staff to ensure that training is up-to-date and current, structured around our core curriculum themes of socialisation, communication and independence. Staff also participate in training tailored to support literacy and numeracy development.

Staff also receive extensive and ongoing training in Safeguarding. The school follows the national guidance set out in Keeping Children Safe in Education and follow the schools policy and protocols to ensure each child’s wellbeing is paramount.
