Communication is a top priority and the school is committed to a total communication environment. All teaching staff are trained in Makaton and PECS symbols are used creatively to develop communication.

We use Makaton throughout the school. It is a language development programme which uses speech, signs (simple hand movement) and symbols (simple line drawings) to encourage speech development and understanding.
