Castlebar pupils, parents, carers and staff continue to enjoy and generously support events to raise money both for charities and the school. Read more to find out about recent events including Red Nose Day, Children in Need and the School Disco.
This term Castlebar pupils have benefitted from the extra facilities provided by the school expansion. The pupils have been very successful and really enjoyed the sporting events this term. In addition the school was awarded the School Games Silver Award.
The building works are complete and the school is already enjoying the new facilities.
Following a successful Parents and Carers coffee morning last week, Parent Governor, Aisha Tabani, has setup a Castlebar Parents Support group. They will meet on the first Thursday of each month starting on 4th December 2014. Parents and carers will have a chance to meet, discuss issues, ask for advice and exchange stories.
Parents and Carers took part in this practical, hands-on session. The session also gave parents the opportunity to learn Makaton signs to use while engaging in activities at home with their children. The parents enjoyed the session and all parents said they felt more confident to support their child’s learning and development at home.
Our pool was completed in October 2014. Pupils are now working towards their ASA swimming certificates with the school’s dedicated swimming instructor.
